What we do, and what it involves.

Three things, done well. Every job is priced from photos and measurements rather than a fixed menu, because no two rugs are in the same condition.

Custom rugs, made to order

A rug built for one room and one brief. You bring the idea — a sketch on the back of an envelope, a Pinterest board, a photo of the floor it has to live on — and we work it up into something that fits.

  • Any size and shape, including runners, rounds and off-cuts around fixtures
  • Colour matched to what is already in the room
  • Design proofed with you before any yarn is cut
  • Wool, cotton and blended yarns depending on wear and budget

Typical turnaround: 4–8 weeks from approved design, depending on size and how busy the bench is.

Repair and re-binding

Most rugs written off as ruined are not. Edges are the usual culprit — once the binding goes, the pile starts unravelling and it looks terminal long before it is.

  • Edge re-binding and overcasting
  • Re-fringing and fringe replacement
  • Moth damage and pet damage
  • Holes, tears and burn marks patched and re-piled
  • Worn traffic lanes rebuilt back to level

Typical turnaround: 1–3 weeks. Small edge work is often quicker.

Restoration and deep cleaning

For rugs that have had a hard life. This is the full reset: out of the house, properly washed, dried flat and returned looking like itself again.

  • Deep clean, dusted and washed rather than surface shampooed
  • Stain and odour treatment, including pet accidents
  • Colour run and dye bleed correction
  • Flattening and reshaping for rugs that have curled or buckled

Typical turnaround: 1–2 weeks including full drying time. Rugs are never returned damp.

How it works

Four steps, no surprises.

STEP 01

Send photos

A few shots and rough measurements. Close-ups of any damage help most.

STEP 02

Get a price

A real figure and a realistic timeframe, usually back within a day or two.

STEP 03

Drop off or pick up

Bring it to the studio, or we can arrange collection around Auckland.

STEP 04

Work and return

Progress photos as it goes, and it comes back finished and flat.
